I can't believe a book about cats made me cry, but here we are.

This book is about the cat Nana and his owner Satoru, travelling through Japan. The story explores Satoru's story with his friends from the past, mainly about each of their own personal problems they've had.

This story explores the grudges and regrets the cast have had in the past, mostly towards themselves rather than towards Satoru. So when they met up once more and gained some closure for themselves, they could finally start letting go of it all—the guilt and regret, the jealousy some of them have had. Each character learned something from meeting up with their friend again.

I kept wondering, if Satoru hadn't met Nana under that van, would he have gone travelling to meet his old friends again? It's something that's been etched into my brain, and I can't help but wonder.

Nevertheless, I really adore Satoru—even though he's been through so much, even though life keeps being mean to him, he keeps being the super kind and understanding person that he is. I could understand how the others felt a little.
SpoilerAnd I knew that his death was coming from the beginning but I keep thinking it's unfair. Why him? He deserves so much better.

This book taught me a few things, and I'm really grateful for it. It was an amazing read.
