Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

4.0

This was a really cute & sweet story of love & friendship.

I didn't think I'd like Anna at first as I thought she was a wee bit moany & naive when it comes to boy's with the typical no experience but is an absolute-beauty-but-she-doesn't-know-it type thing going on but she really grew on me within the first few chapters.

And Etienne St Clair is just as dreamy & tortured as all our other fav book boyfriends :)
Though I have to say I did want to strangle him at times cause I was so frustrated with his decisions
Spoilerif he had only broken up with Ellie sooner!!! But then we wouldn't have had the angst needed for the tale to work :)
to be fair the author does a good job of explaining why he does what he does & Anna isn't without her faults either & I needed to remind myself that these are 2 clueless teenagers which I once was myself :)(long looooooonnnnng ago)

Paris is also a huge character is this book, she hates it, she loves it, she wants to go home, it is home. I love Paris so any book based there is gonna score major points with me.

I guess the reason the book lost a star for me is that there is nothing really new going on here but because it was told beautifully it worked all the same.

This is a perfect light fluffy YA romance for in between more hardcore angst ridden books. Or if you just like a really cute tale of best friends to lovers.

I will definitely be reading [b:Lola and the Boy Next Door|9961796|Lola and the Boy Next Door|Stephanie Perkins|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1327889189s/9961796.jpg|7149084]
