Crafty Cat and the Crafty Camp Crisis by Charise Mericle Harper

3.0

I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I did not read the first book in this series previously, but still enjoyed this one. It would be fun to read as a series, but is also good for a child to pick up midway through.

Birdie (A.K.A. Crafty Cat) is a huge crafting fan and cannot wait for a special craft day at her school during the summer. On this day she must learn how to understand other people's interests, how to navigate working with a bully, and how to show her emotions.

On craft day the students are working on monster crafts. These monster crafts are great indicators of the feelings that everyone has inside. What is really cool is that this book has a how-to for each of the crafts in the back!

This book is full of great vocabulary words, as well as how to handle difficult situations.

A good book for a reluctant reader, as it is more along the lines of a graphic novel.
