It is a children's book about two brothers, Jonatan and Karl that die and go to a heaven-like medieval place called Nangijala, where everyone is kind and helpful and there is no evil...apparently. Tangil, a cruel tyrant, has suppressed one of the valleys of Nangijala named Thorn Rose valley. Jonatan and Karl will go on an adventure to defeat the tyrant and save the Nangijala. It is the story of a timid boy who overcomes his fears and becomes the lionheart.
Though a bit dark for a children's book because of its themes( death, disease, betrayal, tyranny, etc.) It is a beautiful tale of bravery, sacrifice, and kindness.
It was smooth and page-turning. although I am not the target audience, it didn't bore me, but sometimes I wished to get to its end sooner(it's probably because I knew the ending).
I didn't like the ending at all, it left a lot to be desired.
