The grief of death, the bliss of love contrasted with cold senseless tragedy in a land that’s void of hope. Friendships gained and lost, children born and people died.

Lonesome Dove isn’t so much about the cattle herd moving to Montana but the people that risked everything to get there.

One of the most compassionate novels I’ve read in a long time. It was the perfect summer read. The weather finally cooling downed paired with me finishing Lonesome Dove feels poetic.

The summer is over and so is the longest book I’ve read.
