I am a sucker for a "fake dating" trope.

What will make me skim a book however is the "im a man so I will talk to you like im all man and your my play thing and I will give you this cute nickname that no one else's uses just so I have a way to label you as mine" trope.

what I also street gf led with was the narrator for the audio book.....if I didnt already not like Rhys, which I hated him already and dont see what Parker sees in him, the narrators monotone "tough guy" strong new York accent made me like him even less. This just didnt work for me.

Also all of these books have the same formula:
- tough guy
- wall flower girl
- he decides he wants her
- she pretends to push him away
- they sleep together "for her" (eye roll)
- then something happens to push them apart;

this is where this story fell apart, the reason for this altercation was weak, overreaction.

Why am I giving this 3 stars. Because the back story itself was interesting and the smut was done well, which is all you really get from this sort of story
