OUR MISSING HEARTS by Celeste Ng was absolutely enthralling. She weaves words together in a dreamy, hazy way that sucks you in and makes you listen.
The story takes place in a near-future (or maybe parallel) dystopian America, with enough pieces taken from reality that it’s downright eerie to read. I kept wondering where we were going with all of it… and then we got there, the peak of the story, the big action taken, and I thought it was stunning. I gasped, I cried, I was fully consumed by that moment.
I’ve read in reviews how others didn’t like the ending… but readers, in my opinion, it was perfect.
Five bright and shining stars, this book will live rent free in my head for a long time.
