I've always thought Neal Shusterman was a credit to the YA genre, especially in the dystopian space. While Neal and I have our differences (rhymes with knife), I love that he's willing to tackle basically any societal issue and can write a thoughtful, compelling, and tense story about it. So, does it sound insane to recommend a book about "unwinding" (murdering) teenagers in an America dealing with the aftermath of a civil war fought over abortion rights? A little bit, but I'm glad it exists!
