The Summer Wives by Beatriz Williams

3.0

Not what I expected based on title--I was thinking a group of women summering away from their husbands on an island. Not even close, although there is an island (fictional, based on Fisher's Island, I think).
Story is about Miranda, Isobel, and Joseph and their parents, told over 3 summer months in 1930, 1951, and 1969. In 1951, the 3 are 18-20ish; young love & secrets from 1930. 1969 is the resolution (I think; only 85% done).
I thought the most interesting character was Isobel's mother, The Countess, who only briefly appeared, and would much rather have heard all of her story!

Done. The ending was obvious for about the whole of the book. Not impressed.
