I've been following Voskamp on Instagram for a while now, but hadn't read any of her books. This book was literally life-changing for me. I started tabbing passages that resonated with me or that I wanted to return to and felt a bit like I was marking every page. Her raw honesty and vulnerability is obviously hard-won and her willingness to share her brokenness to help others face their own and see that "bad brokenness is broken by good brokenness" is inspiring. I've already sent this book to my sister and will be giving a copy to my mom and have recommended it to several other people. It doesn't offer any easy answers but it does remind us that God's with-ness can use our brokenness to bring true compassion to the broken world around us.
