I was happy to see that other reviewers were as put-off by parts of this as I was. I definitely did not expect this book to unfold the way it did. Why would a Black woman devote her life to covering up the racist acts of rich people? Sure, I get that she can make a lot of money, but it's so obviously doing a huge disservice to herself?? And then to be shocked when it turns out her racist clients are racist towards her too?

Not to mention that what won her over about her (white) boyfriend who was also being sued for racial discrimination at his company was that he had a copy of How to be Anti-Racist on his bookshelf?? I mean, clearly reading that didn't have much of an impact on him if he's being sued so maybe that shouldn't be what wins you over?

Anyway, I really just wanted this to be a good story, but it absolutely just wasn't.
