Respect the Spindle by Abby Franquemont

informative

4.5

Very solid book for learning spindle spinning. It was recommended to me by the instructor of a beginning spinning class I took. It's a great introductory resource that breaks down both the history and science of spinning, and steps to spin your first yarns. I like the exercises for how to improve your yarns and spin faster or more efficiently. The photos illustrating the steps are large enough and clear enough to follow, and there are also some lovely pictures of different kinds of spindles to admire. Only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is it did leave me wanting some information as a total beginner, like how to continue if your yarn breaks while you're plying.
