I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed this as much as I did after not loving the first book. This book built beautifully on the world, political intricacies, and characters that were introduced in The City of Brass. I found this much easier to follow plot wise and it was wonderful to see some great character development, especially in Nahri and Ali. The last 30% of this book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and I’m so excited/nervous to see how this series will end.
Moderate: Child death, Death, Genocide, and Classism
