The Lightning Thief, by Rick Riordan
4.0
I went into this book knowing plot points from the movie adaptation I've seen once or twice and a few things I've heard over the years, but despite already knowing the twist and many key story pieces, this was still thoroughly enjoyable.
I didn't expect not to like it since Greek Mythology has been something I've greatly enjoyed since first seeing Hercules as a kid, but I thought it might end up being a bit underwhelming after such an epically long lead up.
However it was a fast, fun, read with some good foundation for the rest of the series and worked very well to kick a recent reading slump.
I did not see the 2nd movie adaptaion so I don't know anything about the series from here on out and I'm excited to continue on!
