Galatea by Madeline Miller

3.0

ever since learning about it, i thought the pygmalion/galatea myth was beautiful, but a little unbelievable. and that’s exactly why i like madeline miller’s retellings; where the greek myths usually lack human emotion, miller provides them with an emotional depth that makes the story come alive. her characters have real feelings, which they act on. they’re also funny. it makes them so much more relatable.
i’m a huge madeline miller stan and at this point i will read anything she writes. i can’t wait for her next book and i’m so excited it’s going to be a retelling of a shakespeare play!!
