This was like watching a slow motion car crash, in a good way? I spent the whole book mildly nauseated, waiting for the other shoe to drop, and when it did, I felt like I was having a very drawn out panic attack on behalf of the main characters. The characters have stories you'd hear from a friend (who heard from a friend) while chatting over dinner and you'd go, "oh my god, no way. I always wondered what the deal was there."
