Varsity Noir by Kate Glasheen

5.0

I'm trying to be more critical in my reviews and ratings but this one really is a five-star comic. I read it all in one go because I simply could not stop.
The beginning did an amazing job of setting the scene and almost immediately sparks the readers interest. I was hooked from the first episode. It really set the scene and introduced the protagonist very well. The mystery element was only hinted at and yet this was enough to excite and interest me.
The plot just got better and better as pieces of the bigger picture were slowly revealed and more characters got involved. Everything slowly sped up and, by the final episode, it was all at full-speed and it really went out with a bang.
The characters were amazing, I loved how each one slowly got introduced and became a part of the larger group. I was able to support each of the protagonists, despite them each having their own flaws. The relationships were complex and amazingly written and just helped the story develop new layers.
I am not forming great words and/or sentences right now but I loved this comic SO much. Please read it.
