What a beautifully written book. The descent was gripping and difficult to put down, but above all the quality of the writing stood out; I found myself highlighting reams of prose. This novel did what all great fiction does, also, it made me feel deep empathy. I look forward to reading more of Ferrante's work; her writing is simply superb.
