This is difficult for me to rate. I kept being pulled in and out of the story while reading. I would really start to get invested, and then I'd get really bored. I loved the cozy, atmospheric setting, and there were some really touching scenes of the characters connecting with one another. But then it was contrasted with a harsh, bitter coldness that was hard for me to grasp. I was really mad toward the end of the book, which greatly affected my enjoyment of it.
Graphic: Suicide
Moderate: Cancer, Cursing, Infidelity, Grief, and War
Minor: Alcohol
