The first thing I’ll say about this book is that it’s difficult to read, especially the first half, if you’ve experienced sexual assault.
This book is a celebration of independence, anger, freedom, and everything in-between. It’s divinely feminine in so many ways and it was very eye-opening to read.
The second-person perspective made it hard to feel empathy for any of the characters. Even when Paheli was narrating it still felt hollow. The story, however, carried it all and I feel raw and seen by this magnificent piece of work.
