The Inquisition by Taran Matharu

The Inquisition continues the story after The Novice and it delivers everything I hoped for. The only thing missing is Harry Potter-esque boarding school setting.
Some would argue that there are much better ya fantasy novels with better characterisation and world-building. And yes you would be right. But as a mother of a small boy, Summoner is one of the series I think he will enjoy when he grows up because:
+ Main character is male
+ No 'yucky' romance
+ Dwarfs, elves, orcs (WOW fans will love it)
+ Awesome magic
+ Cute magical companions
+ A lot of adventures
