The Woman in Me by Britney Spears

What's clear from this book is that everyone failed Britney. Everyone who was supposed to love and care about her manipulated her, took advantage of her, and controlled her, all for their own gain. The paparazzi were cruel and treated her like she was a show animal. The cycle of abuse that started with her paternal grandfather to her father and ended with her father treating her horrendously was hard to read about. 

Britney definitely spills the tea in this memoir, but the tone in which she tells her story is not vindictive or angry. It's very tasteful. One thing that comes through very clearly is that she loves her children more than anything. I appreciated how insightful and raw Britney was when telling her story, as it paints a clear picture of what she went through for years for those of us who were out of the loop. One thing I will say is that I wasn't a fan of the writing in the first half of the book, as it felt quite juvenile, but I found the second half to be much better.
