No Big Deal by Bethany Rutter

4.0

To begin with, I was a little bored with this book. I found the focus on her weight to be a little too much, but as the book went on I enjoyed it more and more. I loved Emily’s journey to self love and fat acceptance and knowing her self worth despite pressures from boys, friends, family and society to change her body to fit in. Emily is a very likeable character and I really enjoyed seeing the world from her perspective. The dynamic between her and Joe was interesting and relatable. I have been in the same situations and it was nice to read something I’ve experienced. The book was so lovely, heart warming, sad and funny. I found myself actually laughing out loud at a book for the first time in ages. I feel like this is a book more people should definitely read!!
