Girls of Paper and Fire, by Natasha Ngan
dark
sad
slow-paced
- Plot- or character-driven? A mix
- Strong character development? It's complicated
- Loveable characters? No
- Diverse cast of characters? It's complicated
- Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated
3.0
I got through this book, barely. Queer content starts a third of the way through and is forbidden. It's forbidden because of misogyny and classism and not homophobia though so yay?
Graphic: Slavery, Sexism, Racism, Police brutality, Murder, Medical trauma, Adult/minor relationship, Death, Confinement, Classism, Sexual violence, Violence, and Forced institutionalization
