I liked this book but I didn't love it. It is book one in the new Black Hills series, but at times I felt that I was reading a book later in the series.
I enjoyed the characters of Elijah and Jo and I am looking forward to their developing story in the next books.
I think my favorite charactor was Grit. He was very real and I admired and felt sympathy for him. I hope he is the focus of future books.
The story line was good and loose ends were tied up but just enough was left to lead in to the next novel.
Will I be reading the next one? Yep...have to figure out those connections.
