The Rebel by Kendall Ryan

Okay, so I love a good hockey romance, and author Kendall Ryan has proven that she's great with those. But she's already written a whole team's worth in her Hot Jocks series, so what, I wondered, would be left to say? Well, let me just tell you that she showed me, because I thoroughly enjoyed Holt's and Eden's story in THE REBEL, and am completely on board to see what's next.

One of my favorite things about this book is that, rather than jump right into the players' stories, Kendall started with Eden's. As the heiress to the Boston Titans, Eden Wynn has got plenty working against her. Young, beautiful, and with plenty to prove to fans, players, and herself, Eden's got her work cut out for her as far as owning a professional hockey team goes. When you add in the fact that her hockey playing ex is on the team, things are bound to get tricky. But Eden's armed with determination, grit, and support in the person of Holt Rossi.

Holt Rossi is a blast from the past that Eden was not expecting. Their shared history is short, but one that neither has ever forgotten. And as Holt, responsible for Eden's security, spends more time with Eden, the feelings that have never really gone away prove to be stronger than ever.

The fact that I really liked both Eden and Hold made this book even more enjoyable for me. And, while it is the first book in a sports romance series, Kendall makes THE REBEL much more about two people helping each other become the best versions of themselves, and that personal connection is what really makes the story for me. THE REBEL is a solid 4 star read for me, and, given the hints left at the end of the book, I'm looking very forward to THE RIVAL, which is Alex's and Aspen's book. In the meantime, pick up THE REBEL and enjoy. ❤️
