The high rating is for the respect I have for the mangaka alone. “Nana” is a very real depiction of life, from heartbreak, abuse, friendship, intimacy, etc. The dual stories of the two women and their struggles is something you don’t often see in this type of media. But that is also the beauty of it, the mundane realization that life moves on even if you don’t want it to. The realization we often have of, “how do we go forward from here?”. The series is a true classic that I think everyone should experience but do so at your own discretion as there are heavier topics talked about from the start. (This is not a series I would recommend moving fast through).
