The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen

The Snow Queen is a sweet, magical fairy tale about two children, Kai and Gerda, and the journey Gerda makes in order to save Kai, who has been taken by the Snow Queen. I flew through this quickly, under an hour, and its simple but timeless story was just the break I needed away from longer novels. The illustrations are a nice addition to the story. It's been a long time since I've cracked open an Andersen fairy tale, or any childhood stories for that matter, and The Snow Queen brings back the memories and nostalgia.
