I loved this book. Absolutely loved it. I honestly felt like I’d become friends with Eleanor and while you had no idea what direction this book was taking you in, I wanted so badly for it to keep going. A feel good book despite themes of alcohol abuse, emotional abuse murder and suicide, because alongside this there was hope, kindness, love, friendship and self-growth. Despite such heavy themes, these topics were not delved into too deeply and this is not a heavy book - a slightly similar story to ‘Sally Diamond’ but with more hope and respite at the book’s end. I found myself wishing I was still reading this book days after I finished it, like wanting to see a friend again after some time apart.
Moderate: Emotional abuse and Alcohol
Minor: Suicide
