Same star rating as my initial read years ago - 3 stars.
I've enjoyed the world building in this series so far and I adore Laclain. I just can't stand the speech patterns of the Valkyries. Urgh....it's just too "pop culture-ish" for me. I think it takes away from the storytelling & definitely minimizes my enjoyment. But I also realize & appreciate that it was purposefully done by the author so I'll roll with it & hopefully it softens a bit as the series progresses.
