French Milk by Lucy Knisley

2.0

Looking through this book is enjoyable because it feels like peeking into someone's sketchbook. However, there are times when this comic feels far too much like a sketchbook: the drawings seem unfinished, and the text is dull. Knisley is describing a month-long trip in Paris, and as a travel diary, this book is very pretty and fun to look at, but for something that is published I expected more: some real insight into tourism, Paris, or at least herself and her travelling companions. However, this book achieves none of that: it is all on the surface, and feels like a very shallow account of an experience that could have been interesting.
