Mother Hater by Daphne Elliot
4.0
Enzo is EXACTLY what Delia needs - a confident, no-nonsense man who can take her sharp tongued remarks and give them right back to her. He softens her rough edged and helps her to overcome her fears and past experiences with men who treated her poorly.
Their verbal sparing matches were spectacular as expected, but unfortunately I did find it hard to connect with the development of their affection with each other. Even though there were lots of sweet and sizzling moments, I found their relationship lacked a bit of warmth and seemed transactional at times. There was so much potential for growing sexual tension and angst, but it didn’t 100% hit the mark. I know that’s super on brand for Delia and Enzo’s personalities, but I found it harder to connect to them than some of the other moms & partners in previous books.
It was however amazing to get more insight into Delia’s world and to meet Enzo’s charming and loud Italian family! This book was a great conclusion to the whole series (both touching and hilarious). The bonus epilogue was nothing short of perfection and Delia’s chapter in particular was laugh-out-loud funny
