Bitter by T.L. Quinn

5.0

Reeling from the loss of her husband after learning of his many affairs, Wren doesn’t know how to feel. Jake has left her basically penniless, and she isn’t sure who to turn to. That’s when her brother-in-law Reed bulldozes his way into her life, and demands that she let him take care of her. But with the two of them living under one roof, lines begin to blur, and once they’ve been crossed… there’s no going back.

Okay, so this is my first T.L. Quinn book, and I was pleasantly sunrised! Wren, I really felt for her in this one. Not only did her husband cheat on her, but then he died before they could tell anyone, leaving her with no money and no way to support herself. She was forced to play the grieving widow, all the while dealing with feelings of anger and resentment. It’s no wonder she began to rely on Reed, he was the only one of Jake’s family to ever truly care about her or check up on her.

And Reed, oh my!!! Reed was something I wasn’t expecting, but was (and still am!) 100% here for. He was definitely an alpha male, and I loved the way he treated Wren in and outside of the bedroom. At times, you’re going to want to slap him, but I promise you it gets better!!! Reed definitely gets a spot on my book boyfriend list.

While this book isn’t short on sexy times, be aware that it is extremely and agonizingly slow burn. Seriously, this is forbidden romance at its finest. I can’t wait to read more by T.L. Quinn in the future!!
