I really enjoyed this book, it starts off kind of slow but it steadily picks up as the plot progresses. The characters were very well fleshed out and we're not kept in the dark about Mara or why she acts the way she does.

The Romance was nice, it wasn't the sole focus of the book but it also added that realness to it. The relationship between Mara and Neal is sweet if not a little 'him wanting to buy her things and take care of her'. I did get a little irritated by some of the things Neal and Mara said/did but it wasn't anything major.

The big fight between Mara and Neal was done so well, so well in fact that I was angry on Mara's behalf. What Neal did-even with the best intentions-was wrong, overstepping boundaries, insensitive, and just plain meddling.

The character growth Mara goes through, throughout the book is astronomical, the Mara you meet on page 1 vs the one you meet at the end of the book are two completely different people. I really enjoyed watching Mara grow and admit some tough things to herself.

Overall this was a good, fast read and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a spooky story but without the nightmares.
