Just read this book in one sitting and it honestly made me love life again. It is so innocently optimistic and brings just as much whimsy and magic the movie did. I find it to be amazingly profound in its simplicity, with Ella's quiet strength and Kit's unwavering faith, that I will undoubtedly carry many of the philosophies shared in this book with me.

Another thing I thoroughly enjoyed was that the book didn't seem to talk down to its reader, which I kind of didn't expect since it's primarily a children's novel. The humor was appropriately witty and heartwarming, and the ways in which parallelism was used to highlight the impact of Ella's parents' teachings were superb.

Of course, I could be incredibly biased, but aren't we all?
