Great Falls Cadet by Alex Lidell

Did not finish book. Stopped at 6%.

The author used a device to stretch the story into another two books.   This became apparent at chapter 2, where I stopped.

Device used: magic forgetfulness except for the main character based on the fae amulets given to them. Apparently, this amulet does not affect the heroine, but does her mates, who have bonded with her in book three.

I lost patience with the detailed minutiae of "why don't they remember me?" and lack of world building regarding the ambiguous conflict/war these characters are fighting.  I kept skipping chapters to the "end": a cliffhanger for the next book.
