Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

4.0

I feel like there are two lanes for this series - love and hate. I can see reasoning for both but I'm cruising down the first lane with my windows down and the music on. LOL

First, I'm really glad that I read The Assassin's Blade first because I would have found Celaena just a smidge insufferable, however knowing those clips of her life and how it got started, well. . . it endeared me to her instead. Spend a year as a slave and then talk to me about her, mkay?

I loved getting introduced to new characters, I'm Team Dorian over Team Chaol and I'll stand on that because truly it was Sam for me and we know how that turned out.

This is the beginning of a series, a fantasy series, there is world building that you have wade through and that can make for some drag and slowness but it becomes worth it as the series progresses.
