She's Never Coming Back by Hans Koppel

2.0

While I think this book's initial, core storyline could be a success, I just couldn't handle the writing style. The only time I found there was any real detail described was during the multiple rape scenes, and I found myself wanting to reach the end of the book simply to have it done with.

I found the husband and daughter to be very one dimensional and I didn't really sympathize with them, though I tried. Perhaps the storyline simply moves too quickly-months passed within a matter of pages, but the core characters' moods and outlooks on the situation remained stagnant. Nour was completely underdeveloped and, to me, served no purpose except to provide a "gimme" happy ending without much effort on the author's part.

Overall, there are much better thrillers with similar story lines that are a much more challenging, satisfying read.
