Twisted Dares by A.R. Breck

4.0

I have so many feelings about this book. Check those TW, as always. The initial plot was definitely captivating and I love the premise so much. The first book was definitely a slow burn with lots of character building. Caelian and Raven are toxic as fuck, and Breck did not shy away from this.

I’m a firm believer that you don’t need to like the characters to enjoy a book, and that’s what kept me reading at first. The thing is, if an author can illicit such strong feelings about a character for me… you’re doing something right.

With that said… From the get go, I hated Aria. That only amplified throughout the series. As time goes on, Raven also got on my last damn nerve. Her actions are not at all consistent with the character that was built in book one.

Overall, the series was solid but things declined after book 1 for me. The plot was what hooked me and kept me reading, but i skimmed through a decent chunk of the last book. It got repetitive after a while. I know I’m picking apart a lot of things, but it was good enough to keep me reading. A lot of people loved it, so it’s worth diving into.
