What a treat! This is how you do it, people. The stakes are higher than ever and fast-paced because time was undoubtedly of the essence. I love everything about this book. The answer to all questions raised in book 1 plus Elm's POV?? We are spoiled.

This is such an amazing end to a duology that really captivated me from the beginning. We straight on continue on from what happened in the first book, and what truly captivated me was how everything was elevated in a way that kept the plot engaging without becoming repetitive. The card system which really confused me at first, was explained so well and in detail that I immediately understood the gravity of the situation during a scene, and we even got the backstory we were all waiting for on how the magic system came to be!

This is bittersweet, yet an amazing wild ride for our beloved characters. It will always hold a special place in the back of my mind even weeks after finishing it.
