Five Total Strangers by Natalie D. Richards

dark mysterious tense medium-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? No
  • Loveable characters? It's complicated
  • Diverse cast of characters? No

2.0

I really wanted more sinister things to happen in this book. Most of the danger came from outside forces, like the fact they were driving through a snowstorm or from the truck stop gas station guys, not from the fact that one of the five strangers in the car had ill intentions. And what was the endgame here?
Josh follows Mira cross country, is forced to get into a car with her and three other witnesses to do... what? Kidnap her?
It seemed like a lot of trouble to go through with not a lot of pay off.
