This was a Valentine’s library blind date with a book pick that I finally got to (thank youuu renewals). It was cute, but not a wow book. There wasn’t much drama or growth; it’s meant to be a light read, so understandable.

Gemma is dealing with a bad breakup and makes a rash decision, leading her to kissing her best friend and unwittingly throwing herself into an alternate reality. It takes some time, but she ends up using this differently timeline to really understand herself and those around her - and who her person really is. Having to win over your best friend because he suddenly doesn’t remember you definitely gives you new perspective.

Gemma and Dax’s love story is sudden and fast, even after the awkward train wreck of a meeting in the alternate reality. I think that’s why the ending felt abrupt. They got their HEA but I feel like something was missing still.
