"Men tell stories. Women get on with it. For us it was a shadow war."

This is my second read but still it hooked me up. The experience similar as the first was—sad, emotional, tense, heartbreak.

In this epic historical fiction, is about two sisters who separated away—during WWII in France—by principles and temprament over the imminent theat of occupation, and tells how resistance they are to stand up against it, Nazi. The one survived in patience and silence, the other became bravery and invisible.

The Nightingale is kind of slow burn novel, packed with action and little love story. In the beginning it shows us they personality, beliefs, thought, and principles. Toward the end, it will shatter your heart into pieces.

I love The Nightingale—so captivated, Kristin Hannah managed to written wonderful detail—French life during war—and drama. And yet that I love deeply is relationship between two sisters of what they do in the moment of great challenge. Give me feel such a bless that I don't have to face it in the first place.

I highly recommend for you to add this outstanding novel on your 2023's TBR list!
