This was cute, but sadly didn't change my life :/ not that every book needs to change your life lmao, I'm just looking for the sapphic romance that will have me as obsessed as some hetero romances have me, and sadly this wasn't that :(((
But I did enjoy it! I read it in a day so I was definitely intrigued, and while Millie and Flora were cute, there was something about the POV that felt weird at first, and I felt that the story could have been more, Millie and Flora are not even friends by the 50% mark, and I wished we had gotten more of their "enemies" fase, as well of the friendship one, and therefore more development overall. I feel like the step from "enemies" to friendly-enough-aquaintances was done well, but then I feel Hawkins jumped from that to "hey go with me to this diplomatic dinner", and then after that the development to friends and then from friends to lovers I think was done well enough too, but I think the book could have benefited from more of the laundry scenes, since we go from Millie getting nervous after realizing she has her arms around Flora to "we've become friends doing the laundry".
Also I didn't love the spot where the book ended, in general I think the book was too short. They're not even friends for half of the book, the third act conflict starts around the 90 or 95% mark, and then the book ends right when they get back together. I wish we had gotten at least an epilogue or a couple chapters more, not just end in the kiss.
It sounds like I'm bashing the book too much but it's not my intention, like I said, I did like it, it was funny and cute and a light read, but I think it could have been more
