A Little Something Different by Sandy Hall

5.0

I absolutely adored this book. It's not the strongest love story in terms of plot, but I think the format of the book totally makes up for that. I think it was awesome that the story was told in a non-traditional manner, taking the perspectives of all the people involved in Gabe and Lea's life, and never once being told from either of their perspectives. At first, I thought having characters like the Bench and Squirrel! were weird and a little annoying. But then I realized how those characters were needed to help us get into those more private moments and contributed to the storyline. I also loved that the story was set on a college campus, since I'm still in the academic life myself and find that setting the most comforting. I read this book in between some other more traditional and more dense books, so having this easy and delightful read was such a nice experience to have. I'm really excited to ready Hall's next book, once I have the chance to get my hands on it! :)
