The Faithful Spy by Alex Berenson

1.0

Started out with a bang, literally, like shooting and other incendiary devices in the desert of Afghanistan. After that, it didn't take long for the protagonist, Mr. Wells (aka The Faithful Spy) to get lost in a mish-mash of different other stories throughout the book. Essentially I lost him. Where did he go? An occasional pop-up of Mr. Wells can be found in a pickup truck, at a construction site, or at a motel. But, then he vanishes again, only to be overtaken by a multitude of other lengthy stories about the sinister plans of some Islamic extremists. In a sense, the storyline became rather convoluted, with a lot of unnecessary details (and a ridiculous love affair). And, I lost interest in what I thought would be about a rather cool dude. Very disappointed. Moving on.
