I'm going to be honest here: I don't think I'll be able to give this the rating it duly deserves.
I am not very familiar with the poker/casino scene so that alone being the center of the plot already took me out of the story. I debated on whether or not to put this down multiple times but I decided to push through because I know CCJ is amazing at creating stories and so I wanted to give this a fair chance. Sadly, I was too disconnected with this book that I can't even tell you what happened.
I can assure you though, even from the bits and pieces that I can remember, this book was very well written. It was witty at times and the dialogue had a bite when certain scenes call for it.
So yes, this isn't a bad book and I would still recommend it from the writing alone. I just think this particular type of book isn't meant for me.
