Really Good, Actually by Monica Heisey
Did not finish book. Stopped at 33%.
It was fine at first but it kind of just had one schtick and never moved on. It got old really quickly. It's basically all inside the main character's head, mostly telling rather than showing. And the problem with that is that she's a completely self-absorbed selfish person and I just couldn't dwell in her self indulgent rubbish thoughts any longer. The lists and Google searches were only funny the first time. There just wasn't a novel's worth of material here. Also she really went ON about how incredibly YOUNG she was too be divorced at 29 and how incredibly SHORT her marriage was at two years long, and as someone who was divorced by 23 after a 6 month marriage and legally required 2 year separation period, it frankly made me feel judged despite it being a book about a woman divorced in her 20s which I thought would make me feel seen.
