🜸 the pacing in this book was a lot better than in the first and i found myself hooked on it more easily. i really like the story that this takes on compared to the first book, it felt like there was much more room for character development and even more creativity in the ideas being expressed. this whole fixation on the demons in this book tells me that they're going to play a HUGE role in the finale story and i'm honestly really excited to see where that goes. as for the characters, i once again loved all of them except for catherine and ambrose. i understand catherine's position and how difficult it must be to get forced into a marriage alliance as a cover-up for war and then have the story get spun to make you look like the villain but that doesn't excuse many of the things she does. she lies about being married to prince tszayn and then gets caught making out with ambrose. like. what. and ambrose kept being so pushy with her and wouldn't accept the fact that she's a princess supposed to marry a prince. and he blames her for not being wild? and doing stupid shit with him? grow up. BUT tash was cool still and i love march and edyon's relationship (i love the gays) even though all three of them had tragic endings. i have relatively high hopes for the final book in this series. :)
