I was rather disappointed by this book. I loved Teri's Shattered series, so I really thought this that book would bring the same fire as the other series.

Unfortunately this just didn't hit the spot for me. I wasn't really a fan of the characters. I didn't really like Callie. Considering she is 12(?) she came across rather mature for her age. So when she made childish decisions it sat wrong with me because she never came across as young and it had the opposite effect even if her feelings or actions could have been justified.

I can't say whether I liked Shay or Kai in all honesty. I don't really feel like they were developed properly. Also the insta-love between them just came out of no where. I felt like once they fell in 'love' with one another within a couple of days, they were no longer individuals. Whenever Shay and Kai were separated, it's as if they could not cope on their own. They could not function on their own. If they'd been together for a longer period of time I may have been able to understand that, but only knowing one another for a couple of days, I often snorted every time they were desperate to reconnect or even when they were together.

The beginning of the story of where Callie was, really interested me. I wanted to know the reason as to why she was there. Why was she different from others? How come we can see her this way? I felt like the beginning in regards to Caliie's story was rather rushed and I counld't understand why she wouldn't want to investigate further. I didn't feel like questions were answered. Another thing that really bothered me was what was supposed to be the big reveal! It was so obvious and the fact that it hadn't been guessed by the characters was just shockingly stupid.

So unfortunately I don't think I'll be reading part 2.
